Residents who wish to join the Llandudno Neighborhood Watch then you are requested to purchase a VHF Radio as follows:


a. Review the attached procedure (available upon sign-up)
b. Join Hout Bay Neighborhood Watch (HBNW) (http://www.houtbaywatch.com/index1.php?Link=41&Component=com_regis); it’s free.
c. Upon approval; you will be informed by HBNW via email concurrently with Area Leader (for Llandudno is it Carel de Ridder)
d. Pay R1,900 {price may change with new batch coming} into HBNW account: Nedbank; Branch code: 167 609; Account type: Cheque; Account No: 167 602 9133; Account name: Hout Bay Neighborhood Watch; Ref. Name & “Radio”
e. Email confirmation of payment to administrator (advised on sign-up) or send POP by SMS (cell advised on sign-up)
f. Visit administrator (Hout Bay address advised on sign-up) to collect the radio and receive the basic radio introduction (which needs to be refreshed via testing on occasion).
 
Note that the Channel List is as follows:
1.  Watchcon HB – used primarily in Hout Bay; no real application for us in Llandudno; not on repeater…reachable by some houses/locations within Llandudno
2.  Llandudno Sleep – Call-Up Channel; recommended for all Neighborhood Watch members to leave-on at night; Watchcon will only broadcast emergency notices thereon (NOT for conversations/questions; go to Channel 3); on Repeater/Booster
3.  Llandudno Ops – Primary Channel for ALL traffic (routine & emerg); on-line with Watchcon & ADT patrols/responders; on Repeater/Booster
4.  Llandudno Private – Secure Channel accessible only by residents (not ADT); NOT on Repeater…so lower power but will work within Llandudno and as back-up in case Repeater/Booster is down
5.  Watchon Digital – new channel/system that is more secure than Channel 1 (but only available on the new radios; not needed in Llandudno)
